Welcome to “Camp Irene” - the spirit of the Catskills on a hill! Encompassing 13 acres of amazing forest and adjacent to state land, two streams, and frontage on the Esopus Creek. Outside in every direction enjoy numerous outdoor spaces: the rustic front porch with it’s porch swing and peaking-views at the mountains (more cutting could expose super views), have breakfast on the bluestone patio, or do a little gardening. Spend some time in the garage, building a table, or just wander the forest paths. Afterwards, feel free to take a fun outdoor shower. A bright red door leads you into a sweet homespun sun room and foyer. Hang your hat and fishing pole, parka and skis, before you step into an eat-in country kitchen with all the charm and simplicity that makes rural living so joyous. Your magical sun room is a great spot for tea, to write poetry, or to use as an office or art studio. And vaulted and beamed ceilings to boot! This cottage style hand-crafted home features a rustic living / dining room that’s anchored by an artisan's river stone fireplace, built-in shelving, a bar, and an open generous feeling. There’s a large main bedroom on the first floor and a renovated bath, and upstairs is another adorable bedroom. "Camp Irene" is made even more endearing by the one bedroom seasonal cottage next door. Serendipitously, it has it’s own outdoor spaces (the patio overlooks a year-round stream) and there's ample parking. There's a huge bedroom upstairs and a large open living/dining room (with a soap stone wood stove) and an open kitchen downstairs. The current owners have used it as a rental unit, and also to host guests from out of town. Fishing anyone? This 13 acres crosses over the road to its own frontage on the Esopus creek. How about enjoying numerous surrounding state trails. There are great views from Tanbark trail and from the fire tower on top of Mt Tremper Trail, right on Plank Rd. And it’s less than a mile to Phoenicia. You are right on the bus route so you could stop right in front of your house from NYC. This is a great place to relax with friends. Too much to explain, come and take a look. It’s a pleasure to see and show.
